Description

Leonardo - Orange Wine - Trebbiano & Albana 2016

The 2016 vintage benefited from abundant sunshine and balanced rainfall, producing one of the most complete and refined expressions of this wine. The grapes were hand-harvested at night on September 5-6th, 2016.

This cuvée is inspired by the traditional winemaking practices of the hills between Toscana and Romagna, where farmers historically blended Albana and Trebbiano to achieve greater balance. Leonardo adopted this approach using the highly concentrated juice obtained from the intense pressing of both varieties, resulting in an orange-colored wine of pronounced strength, aromatic intensity, and depth.

Fermentation and maturation began with 6 months in stainless-steel tanks, followed by 6 months of refinement in wooden barriques. The wine was then bottled and further aged in our cellar, allowing its character to integrate and evolve.

The color is bright and elegant, with amber–rose-gold reflections and a velvety consistency that reflects both structure and maturity. The nose is deep and complex, offering wilted yellow flowers (dandelion, broom), tea leaf, tobacco, toasted hazelnut, date, and spiced dried fruits—an enveloping aromatic profile showing graceful evolution.

On the palate, breadth and sapidity are finely balanced. A fine-grained tannic texture, derived from both grape skins and barrel aging, adds depth and definition. The tactile intensity and long, flavorful persistence create a structured and engaging sip.

A wine of distinctive character, ideal for bold, spiced, or ethnic cuisine, thanks to its structure, complexity, and versatility. An original, non-obvious expression with notable depth and charm.

*** At Divinalux, we use only a refined touch of sulfites—just enough to protect the wine as it ages, without overshadowing its purity. While sulfites may be more noticeable in wine than in food due to the presence of alcohol, they remain discreet for most consumers.

Our philosophy is simple: minimal intervention, maximum elegance.
