Description

Dar - Romagna DOCG Albana Secco 2017

The 2017 vintage in the hills between Romagna and Toscana was shaped by spring frost, a warm, dry summer and naturally low yields, giving our Albana grapes remarkable concentration.

At 250–300 m, our southeast-facing vineyard rises above ancient crystal caves, a site that offers exceptional drainage, mineral purity and a uniquely refined microclimate.

This year, the grapes were hand-harvested at night on the 31st of August, capturing freshness at the coolest moment of the day. Fermentation followed at low temperatures in stainless-steel tanks to preserve the variety’s delicate aromatics.

After bottling, the wine continued to mature quietly in our cellars, developing depth, finesse and the signature elegance of Divinalux.

*** At Divinalux, we use only a refined touch of sulphites—just enough to protect the wine as it ages, without overshadowing its purity. While sulphites may be more noticeable in wine than in food due to the presence of alcohol, they remain discreet for most consumers.

*** In 2017, our Estate received official Organic Certification for all agricultural activities, including the production of wine, olive oil, and other farm products. Although 2017 marks the first year of certified organic status, the Estate had been in conversion since 2013, and even prior to that it was cultivated in accordance with the organic requirements of the Regional Park regulations. As a result, all our wines have been produced according to organic standards for many years; however, from the 2017 vintage onward, we are officially authorized to display the Organic Production Symbol on all our labels.

Tasting notes

DAR Romagna DOCG Albana Secco 2017

A warm vintage producing a rich, golden wine with luminosity and density. The nose reveals spicy and herbal notes, intertwined with yellow flowers and sunflower, and a fruity core of yellow plum and ripe peach. The palate opens softly, with a honeyed texture balanced by vivid freshness. The wine shows harmony and fullness, now entering maturity, while retaining freshness. The finish is long and slightly tannic, reflecting the Albana’s varietal character. A complex, gastronomic white, ideal for pairing with flavorful dishes.

This wine surprised me in the best way. The scent is elegant and comforting, and the texture is smooth and round. It stays fresh while also feeling rich. The finish is long and clean, with just the right amount of structure. I would happily buy it again.
