Description

Victores - Romagna DOC Sangiovese Superiore 2016

The 2016 vintage benefited from abundant sunshine and perfectly balanced rainfall, yielding a pure, transparent, and archetypal expression of Sangiovese. The harmony of the season allowed — and inspired — the choice to ferment and mature the wine exclusively in stainless-steel tanks, without any wood influence. This stylistic direction also responded to requests from clients specializing in high-end collectible wines, seeking maximum authenticity and varietal purity.

The grapes were harvested on September 12th and vinified entirely in inox to preserve the wine’s precision, territorial identity, and aromatic clarity. After 11 months in stainless steel, the wine was bottled and continued to refine in our cellar.

Victores 2016 presents a brilliant, luminous ruby color, refined and vibrant. The bouquet is precise and expressive, offering cherry, blackberry, and plum, enriched by delicate floral notes of violet and iris.

On the palate, the wine is lively and dynamic, driven by crisp tannins and vivid freshness. A marked salinity, characteristic of the Victores style, frames the fruit, adding tension, structure, and definition. The impression is one of clarity, agility, and elegant linearity.

A genuine and energetic Sangiovese, Victores 2016 favors purity over power — a vintage that celebrates transparency, finesse, and the unmistakable character of its territory.

*** At Divinalux, we use only a refined touch of sulfites—just enough to protect the wine as it ages, without overshadowing its purity. While sulfites may be more noticeable in wine than in food due to the presence of alcohol, they remain discreet for most consumers.

Our philosophy is simple: minimal intervention, maximum elegance.
