Description

Hilla - Rubicone IGT Trebbiano 2018

The 2018 growing season unfolded with a gentler pace in the hills between Romagna and Toscana. A cool start and well-timed spring rains were followed by a warm, stable summer, allowing for balanced ripening. Trebbiano grapes were hand-harvested at night on the 4th of September, then fermented at low temperature in stainless-steel tanks. The wine underwent 12 months of maturation in inox, followed by extended bottle aging.

The wine shows a deep, luminous golden color, more intense than in younger vintages, with a full, velvety texture in the glass—evidence of notable richness and maturity. The nose is broad and enveloping, marked by yellow flowers, resin, and dried aromatic herbs. Straw and dried grass notes introduce a distinctly Mediterranean, terrestrial character, adding complexity and depth.

On the palate, the wine delivers surprising vibrancy: a sharp, energetic entry supported by incisive mineral freshness and lively acidity. The structure is long, firm, and tense, leaving an impression of remarkable energy and precision.

Hilla 2018 is a wine of character, aromatic depth, and strong mineral tension, distinguished by outstanding vitality and excellent ageing potential, destined to reveal increasing complexity over time.

*** At Divinalux, we use only a refined touch of sulfites—just enough to protect the wine as it ages, without overshadowing its purity. While sulfites may be more noticeable in wine than in food due to the presence of alcohol, they remain discreet for most consumers.

Our philosophy is simple: minimal intervention, maximum elegance.

*** In 2017, our Estate received official Organic Certification for all agricultural activities, including the production of wine, olive oil, and other farm products. Although 2017 marks the first year of certified organic status, the Estate had been in conversion since 2013, and even prior to that it was cultivated in accordance with the organic requirements of the Regional Park regulations. As a result, all our wines have been produced according to organic standards for many years; however, from the 2017 vintage onward, we are officially authorized to display the Organic Production Symbol on all our labels.
