Description

Hilla - Rubicone IGT Trebbiano 2017

The 2017 vintage in the hills between Romagna and Toscana was marked by spring frost, a warm, dry summer, and naturally low yields. The warm conditions shaped a Trebbiano with broader fruit and softness, yet preserved freshness and varietal nobility. Trebbiano grapes were hand-harvested at night on September 6th, 2015, then fermented at low temperature in stainless-steel tanks. The wine underwent 12 months of maturation in inox, followed by extended bottle aging.

The color shows the classic bright green-gold hue, refined and intense. The nose reflects the vintage character: ample, enveloping aromas, with candied and almond notes, a clear evolutionary profile, and underlying saline and chalky nuances. A subtle balsamic edge adds further complexity.

On the palate, the wine opens gently and delicately, then expands mid-palate with volume and structure, offering deep, satisfying complexity. While slightly less long-lived than other vintages, it now displays full maturity and expressive balance. The finish is balsamic and resinous, leaving a refined impression of elegance, character, and immediate drinkability, while retaining the hallmark finesse of Hilla.

*** At Divinalux, we use only a refined touch of sulfites—just enough to protect the wine as it ages, without overshadowing its purity. While sulfites may be more noticeable in wine than in food due to the presence of alcohol, they remain discreet for most consumers.

Our philosophy is simple: minimal intervention, maximum elegance.

*** In 2017, our Estate received official Organic Certification for all agricultural activities, including the production of wine, olive oil, and other farm products. Although 2017 marks the first year of certified organic status, the Estate had been in conversion since 2013, and even prior to that it was cultivated in accordance with the organic requirements of the Regional Park regulations. As a result, all our wines have been produced according to organic standards for many years; however, from the 2017 vintage onward, we are officially authorized to display the Organic Production Symbol on all our labels.
